Hi ! I have a newly acquired 1950 farmall c that I just got running today and need some coolant advise. What is the best way to drain the coolant on the tractor? I drove it around today and it overheat. (it was full of water)I will clean coolant out of motor and raidator, as I know that the thermosyphon system is touchy about clean passages. I also know that when I clean it I will refill with 50/50 antifreese/water. Any body have some advise for me? thanks, alot !

Make sure your radiatore is clean. If you can't see light through it, then it needs to be cleaned with water between the cooling fins. This will help with your cooling problems.

I think the C has the same type of coolant drain pipe that the A and B have, a short section of pipe extending down from the lower hose fitting on the block. It should have a pipe cap on it that you remove to drain the system. When you refill, make sure you have the coolant pre-mixed before adding it as you don't have a pump to mix it after it is in. The antifreeze and water have different densities and if not premixed the thermosiphon will not work and your engine will overheat. Enjoy your C!
