We have a mower just like that that my grandpa probably bought new way back when. It is mostly retired since he bought a FMC tire drive, no shear bolts or slip clutch and built like a tank.

Joe, From what I've heard the IH mowers were top of the line in thier time, one question for ya, if I'm right what size snow plow mount's to the front of your "M"? and if I'm right do you have hyd. angleing or manual?

Is it really an "M" with white grill and Super "M" decals or is it a Super "M" with white grill. I don't remember, did a Super "M" have white grills?

Some of those IH mowers were tough. Dad rented one in the early 60's to clear a lane for a fence along the woods. With the 350 it would chop up anything including trees that the tractor would push over. It had some real heavy swinging blades under it.

How wide is your Mower. I would like to put a 6 ft. on my M. But not shure if would be to big. Tom

I don;t think a 6 ft mower would be a problem for an M. I Have a 7 ft pull behind that I pull with an H and it does an excellent job.

I've got a 6 ft. 3-pt mower on my 1950 M. I run mostly in 2nd gear. The only reason I don't use 3rd gear much is it's too fast for the areas I cut. Power is not a problem.
