Greg, the oil is likely coming from one of three sources. The seals behind the brake drums may be seeping enough oil to leak down and out the bottom of the brake covers, from there running down to the bottom of the tractor's rear. A second source would be one of the transmission or lift all seals up under the belly pan which could leak down to the rear housing. The one you don't want to hear is a hair line crack in the rear housing below the bull gear. I had this problem when an H I bought had sat outside for years with water in the rear oil, froze and cracked the housing. I was lucky enough to have only a short hair line crack that the local welding shop repaired successfully for me. There ar no required seals for an oil change of the rear, however there may be seals that need to be replaced to solve your problem. I have done brake seals ,tranny and liftall and had the housing welded...no oil leals..Good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
