Carburetor complications

I was pulling a stump with my super C and lost gas. Choked it and got it to the shed.

Cleaned the screens, bowl, and gas tank. No luck.

Took off the carb and the rubber end had come off the needle and jammed the float.

New needle valve and did the throttle body while I was in there.

Now I've got it back together and running like a dream... except for now it doesn't respond to the throttle.

Doesn't seem like this should be an adjustment issue, but weird no problems until I did this. The throttle was VERY sloppy before.

Is this a governor issue? I've verified it's not hung up on anything.

The type of internal linkage Ron is referring to does not apply to your tractor. With the tractor running grab the linkage to the carb. Can you make the engine rev up that way? I really dont think you have a problem with your governor since it worked fine before. Hopefully you still have the old carburetor throttle shaft. I would pull the carb back off and check I comparing the oil to the new. Is the lever the same? There is also a possibility that you had the shaft in the wrong position when you attached the throttle shaft. When you pull the car off, you should be able to turn the throttle shaft so theyre low idle screw moves away from the stop at the same time the throttle blade should be opening. Also, the throttle plate needs centered properly when you tighten it down. Install the plate and snug the screws down, then backed them off slightly so the plate can move. Do you need to have the throttle stop screw backed out so this will work. Hold the throttle plate closed and then tap the plate so its centers in the car bar. Then with slight tension hold the shaft so it is closing the plate, then tighten the screws down. I believe if you check this all out closely youll find your problem. Also did you pull the elbow out that the fuel line connects to? There is a fine screen on it that can plug.

did you remove the throttle shaft and butterfly? it may be clocked wrong.

The connection from the governor to the carburetor is probably not correctly assembled. That connection point is internal, can't tell from your photo if the connection is similar to an H or an M and I've never worked on a C so I may be all wrong.

I think the governor rod just attaches to the throttle body with a cotter key

The scree in the picture is the low idle limiter, and the rod slides into the hole immediately below it

The position of the throttle linkage in the closeup image is correct for wide open. The throttle shaft is moved clockwise (looking at it as installed and from the outside, not as though you could see it from the block side) when it is idling. If you take the cotter key out of the link at the carb, does it move freely from Idle to Full throttle? The fact that it is in the full throttle position and connected is an indication that the governor is trying to have it run faster. (the hand lever is not at the idle position. If the hand lever is put in the idle position does it cause the idle stop to touch the idle screw? Jim

I've got an A, BN, 100 and Super C all with the same block, governor, carb, etc and I can't really make sense of the last picture you posted. Can you broaden out the picture so we have a better view of what you have. You say you have no throttle response - does the pieces all move when you move the throttle lever, including the rod going to the carb. There is an adjustment procedure for the length of the rod from the carb to the governor yoke. If you pull the pin from the yoke, move the throttle lever all the way forward and the yoke all the way back toward the carb the length is adjusted correctly when the pin goes back into the hole. The picture you show doesn't look correct for anything I'm familiar with but it may be because you are in too close with the camera. Also just curious - what is the additional line running past your carb in the first picture?

Wire from the generator. I would change it to go behind the carb.
