2001 IH Loader Question

I found a 2001 IH loader mounted on a IH 504.
Will the loader work on a Farmall 504 ?
Will the brackets be the same for a IH 504 and a Farmall 504?
I m not sure the front bracket mounts are the same.
Need the experts help with this one.
Thanks

my dad had a 2001 loader on a farmall 504 i think the front brackets were just heavy angle iron they were about 18 long and maybe 2x2 there were holes
cut out to fit over the front bolts that held the bolster to the frame and holes to bolt the brackets to the frame. the brackets went on one way for
the 504 and were flipped for the 706

Thank you

From Operators Manual Front mounts (and rear mounts also ) are different for Farmall model and International ( Utility) models.

Will loader from utility 504 work on a Farmall 504? Picture below shows loader on a Farmall 504 with front brackets from Utility 504. It worked, but loader is mounted too high on the Farmall. I grabbed that picture from an internet site some years ago. The same owner later showed a picture of the tractor and loader lying on its side on a road. The loader lift cylinder mounting points on the sub-frame had to be modified to the rearmost of the holes seen and a notch had to be cut out of the tower in order for the geometry of everything to be in alignment to allow for the loader bucket to go to the ground and full height. . Second picture of tractor with correct mount brackets. Look closely at them to compare. I would not want to use the Farmall with a loader mounted like the one in 1st picture. Too high and dangerous.

Looks like all they did was turn the mounts around and install them on the opposite side. Maybe drill some holes...

As you noted that puts the loader much too high on the tractor.

Not only are the front mounts different, there are a few different sets of side frames for the 2000/2001 loaders. Some like the 504U version, mount to the front of the axle housing with the clamp around the back. Others like the F504 version, mount UNDER the axle housings with a clamp over the top. There are likely different length side frames for larger and smaller tractors too.

Nothing says that the mounts can't be modified, but you have to have the ability to do so.

Thank you very much for the detailed information. Very helpful and now I understand the differences.
Thank you,
