Cub tranny noise in 3 rd gear only

Well my cub has more than normal noise in 3rd gear. 1,2 and R are good. Normally its the lower gears that are used the most that have the most noise. What yall think? I know this question has never been asked over a million times!!

It's trashed...... I will drop by with a trailer to haul it off for you! Lol. I've been told that what ever gear got used the most makes more noise.

Well it had the mower on it from birth and I bet they didnt cut grass in 3 rd gear. They dont have that much power!!

Well more then likely she is in need of some new bearings . Now not sayen i am the total expert on Cubby's as i only have worked on like five In the last what now 63-64 years , last one being my younger brothers low boy that sounded like a walnut grinder grinding shells and all . We end up replacing every bearing in the drive line . and fixing the PTo lever while we were in there . I owned a 1958 Cub way back when i was a teenager . It at the time made me rich doing lawn plowing and light grading mowing s couple fields and SNOW REMOVAL , With the snows we use to get with only three of us doing any kind of driveway plowing and back then hey three to five bucks was a lot of money and most times the three dollar drive they would hand you a five and say keep the change. and a five gallon can of 16.9 cent a gallon gas went a long way.

Ah if it mowed i'll lay a ten spot on she was in first most of the time in the spring and early summer . Now if ya want a Super cubby then ya need to change pistons and head and carb and bump up the RPM's then what you could do in first ya can now do in second. We did two up like that .
