350 U 1 Way steering and grinding transmission Update

I posted a good bit about this tractor so I figured I'd update. Recap is I purchased it to use the nice loader on my 300. I then predictably decided to try and save the tractor. After a couple of pump rebuilds I got the power steering working just ok but working none the less. Also talked some hydraulic and carb issues. Ran it some and heard transmission grinding and also noticed leaking fluid out of the weep hole under the trans. Consensus hear was bad pilot bearing causing the grinding and bad seals in the TA area causing fluid to leak into the dry clutch area. My local mechanic agreed to work on it when possible and picked it up in March. He's been very busy and his labor market is tight so tractor has been sitting in his shop. I'd stop periodically and long story short kind of ended up with the best of both worlds. He agreed to let me do the simple wrench turning stuff and he checks in for advice and the more complicated issues. The tractor is double split. In addition to the pilot bearing and seals the 4th and 5th sliding gear rear shaft have been acquired. Still a little more disassembly required to remove a busted needle bearing. He will also do some welding on the clutch shaft that comes out beneath the seat,3rd pic below. Its very loose and the pedal has about and inch of left to right play. Hopefully not too far away from reassembly. Pictures aren't great as they weren't taken for posting purposes. Thanks for the help to this point. Paul

Thanks Jim. I enjoy the work and learning as well as the challenge of getting it done at a reasonable cost. I don't know why the pictures didn't load.
