International 824 4wd

Just picked up a 4wd international 824. Needing the front diff pinion seal dimensions if anybody has access to them. Case/IH dealer says not only is the number and change up
number obsolete but case does not have the dimensions available. Part numbers I found are 3134317R1 and 3216436R1
Thanks, Tim

A couple things you can do. 1 cross the part numbers you have/get with a parts house that has some competent people there. Or get the seal out and read the part number on it to get a new seal or 3 take the dimensions from the old seal and old seal to a parts house for them to match up. I would probably do the later for most accurate. Seal should come out fairly easy.

Lots of those who say they have it don't when they try and get it from Case. I am after dimensions so I can match it up to a local supplier in Canada with National or Timken seals for instance. And yes I used google.

I am after dimensions so I can match it up to a local supplier in Canada with National or Timken seals for instance. These numbers do not cross up to anything I have found. 5 years in a parts store so do know what I am up to. Pulling old seal is a last resort as once I do that the machine is disabled. Rural Canada could take 3 weeks if I find a replacement so exhausting other options first.
And yes I used google.

Hmm, lets work this out this way.

Item 27 on the parts diagram.

The bearing cup near 3134305R1 crosses to 274893
which has a 76.2mm OD (3")

The bearing cone near that 3134305R1 crosses to 164862H1
which cross to a SKFHM89443 with a 1.313" ID (33.3mm) or 1 5/16"

Looks like this is a common rear axle bearing.....

Here is a unit:

https://bearingbasement.com/p/bearings/taper-roller-bearings-b-imperial/hm89443-hm89410-timken-imperial-taper-roller-bearing/

Looks like 1 5/16" by 3" seal? Maybe I am wrong.

Hi Tim as you are probably aware that the IH 824 was made in Germany, see link below for Matthias Buschmann's contact info. He has help owners of the German tractors in the past with parts.

Close but no cigar :) Broke down and popped the driveshaft off and removed the flange. Looks like 50mmx80mmx10mm . Ordered one locally from the auto parts store, should be
here in a couple days. Lots of crap behind it that looks to be from the dust deflector ....
