1966 cub lo boy.. paint. Hood. White.

Hi.. since i had to take the Hood off to do other repairs.. i am thinking of getting a can of white paint. And praying nice the hood. I notice that normal glossy or flat white spray paint doenst look the same as the original paint.. any ideas on if i can buy locally a spray paint that will basically match the original sort o off white color of the tractor hood?

P.s. I dont think if will bother with the yellow.. but if you know anything about that color paint and how to.. i guess i could try to touch up some spots.

A caseih dealer will have the creamy white in spray cans. Cans can be mixed and made to order at auto paint stores. There may be uitable rattle cans in farm
stores as well. Jim

Morning. Ha. Wish that i lived near any of those places.. i am in northern nj. No real farm dealers near us. Closest thing to a farm stor here anymore is Tractor Supply. Or Home Depot.

So. What color ? Yeh i know it looks white in picure.. but as noted above.. he mentioned the word. Cream color. [as i say, when i tried a sample spot with a WHITE spray can. Rustoleum. It came out TOO bright white compared to what is original.

Your local NAPA store can make the color you need in automotive paint in a spray can.

I ll see what they can do. Or try those two cans he needs ruined above for a. Test spread. Or maybe if I drive to Lancaster pa I can find an actual Case dealer to see what they sell (That s a trip for me though ). Thanks

There are hundreds of colors of white. Seriously! If you want exact, do some research. If something kinda white is OK with
you, find what ever color pleases you and go for it!

Ah yes. Many colors of the same color.
. Mr Blanding Builds his Dream House.. Cary Grant.. and painting his new house.. and the various colors ... maybe a reference before your time. :0)

I used normal Rustoleum gloss white and it looks fine to me. Looks the same as the one in Grandpa Love's picture that was painted "tan."

Thanks. All.
Yeh.. above someone suggested i do research.. :0). Thats why we all are here in this forum. :0).
Anyway.. yeh ill prob use some form of Rustulem.. see above. One member uses some off white to better match.... i went to on l one place.. they have the original colors I learned.. but.. alas.. they are no longer in stock. .... well that will be the last of my projects. Still working on getting the engine going better etc etc.. but trying to be prepared. Thanks all. :0)
