New Master Brake Cylinders on IH684 (my260a)

Quick post from phone. Might help others. I pulled the clutch/brake/brake unit in order to change the two MCs. They were quite impossible to reach in a 260a TLB, due to their location. I ordered the new MCs from FREY company, who states tgat they fit about a dozen IH tractors.

One troublesome thing is that they machined the 7/16", 24tpi output void differently than the originals. They did not cut threading all the way down, therefore standard nuts would stop about 3/32 before the bottom. The flared line would, therefore, get no clamping.I thought of adding some kind of copper or rubber compression washer...

My friend put 2 nuts in his lathe and carved off the two leading threads. They seem to fit great now, with no washers, but I need to test with fluids. The flares seat well. I will visit the machine in October for reinstall.

Folks should know that the threading is different. Note, I did not photograph the modified nuts, but I hope it makes sense. PS The white paint was just what I had :)
