I am working on my super c and need a voltage regulator (6 volt positive ground)... the catch being it is a 3 brush generator NOT 2 brush... does anyone here have any insight on the issue... I can find ones for the 2 brush...I believe the one on the tractor is incorrect (for a 2 brush) ...Maybe a 2 brush regulator will work???? anyway I kind of at a loss here..any help would be greatly appreciated..

I think a Super C should have a generator with a non-adjustable third brush. Is the generator tag still there? If so, what is the model number on the tag?

this is the best I can make it out
delco-remy

model # 1100501...the only part that is really legible is the
05 part of the number

serial Number is something like 2E14...

1100501 is the Delco part number of the original Super C generator. It has a third non-adjustable brush.

The serial number 2E14 is really a date code that indicates 1952, May 14th.

The original Delco number for the matching regulator was 1118308. I imagine that number was changed some time later on.

(quoted from post at 14:47:48 09/22/22) Does your tractor have a magneto?

Nope... coil distributor set up..

actually got the installed voltage regulator working...right after
I found and ordered a new one... its been one of those
days... Anyway,,, to get the old one working I sanded the
contacts (3 sets) with 1500 paper blew the dust out, sprayed it
down with Deoxit and then spayed it down with air again to get
off the excess...now its working better then it has since I got it..

This could be a good time to update to a 12 volt system. The starter usually doesn't need to be changed and so the biggest
expense is a coil and the alternator.

Call me old--fashion...but I prefer to keep her in as close to stock as possible.. plus the 6 volt system works , it never left me sitting in a field or anything bad..for me the biggest issue I have had is runn6thing out of gas going up long steep hills because all the gas runs to the back of the tank and away from the fuel cock...

Right, it isn't broken so don't fix it. It will probably work now until the contacts get in bad shape again. For future reference, use a point file on the contacts rather than abrasive paper. The results will last longer.
