Add on tractor ride seat.

I have been after the better half to drive a tractor in the local parade for a couple of years. She said if I put another seat on one of my tractors she would ride with me. I was going to add a seat to my JD A but decided to do a H. 2 inch angle iron, diamond plate, seat bracket from a 706, back rest from a Cub deluxe seat and she has a seat for the parade.

Does she have her ''Back Seat Driver's license''?

My cousin showed his to me about 50 years ago.
As a gag you should make one up for her.
Age 39 of course.
Weight 125?

just what is she going to hold to anything why not make a bench seat those
seats can be dangerous nothing to hold on to

I am in the process of making a hand hold that attaches to the back of drivers seat. I originally planned a bench seat but getting on and off the tractor between the bench seat and fenders was a tight fit.

Wouldn't see me back there without more iron. You take a corner to fast or hit a pothole, won't be good.

It is not a drag race or tractor ride at full speed. It is a parade, 1rst gear 3/4 throttle. The tractors are in line behind the marching bands and politicians, we will be driving turtle speed.

I'd be going a little faster if I was right behind the politicians.

Some folks would not be satisfied if you had a NHRA-certified full welded roll cage, racing seats, and 5-point harnesses.

How much do you weigh? Can't you see all the bracing underneath it, supported by the tow bar?

Looks nice. I would add some kind of safety strap or wrap around rail. I have seen the springs break under the seat. Dont care if you are moving 1/2 mile hour,
the spring breaks and passenger hits the ground

with the bench type seat you get on and of on the side from the front. I-H HAD A BENCH SEAT DEMO MODEL steps coming up left side
worked well would be great for an H or M

I understand the bench seat theory but in my case I have to have the rear tires set to 7' width to fit on my trailer and with the fenders and light bar where they are it is also a squeeze from the front.

Have to remember that the driver sits over the pivot point when that tractor turns. The passenger is beyond the pivot and
sees more swinging action during sharp turns. The driver also always has his hands on a steering wheel and knows when he'll
be turning. The passenger doesn't.

A comfortable to grab & reach hand grip is critical to the safety of the passenger. Yes.....only parade speeds,
theoretically, but accidents happen because no one knows they are coming.

I like that you used a factory seat. The disadvantage is that the rider has
limited vision and protection. Owosso Tractor Parts requires some kind of a
bumper on all buddy seats allowed to participate in their bridge crossing. Here
are some photos of our offset and protected seat on an H. Lots of
floorboard, storage space, better vision, and a bumper.

The passenger is his WIFE. Use your imagination as to where she will have her hands... I think this design is intentional LOL.
