Farmall Super M Hydraulic Shaft Seal

I saw a post asking about the hydraulic shaft seal on an M and it reminded me about a question I had on my Super M. It was converted to live hydraulics with the little reservoir instead of the big belly pump reservoir for the Lift-All system. There is a slow but steady leak from the area that the belly pump would have taken up. When I take the cover that blocks this extra area off there is what I assume the old drive shaft for the belly pump and transmission oil is seeping from there. Do I have to split the tractor to get to this? And what seal do I use to replace it?

Thanks,
Noah

No need to split tractor. The drive has a square slot. It is threaded on to the shaft.
Right hand thread. I have removed that drive nut with a large punch and a good swat
with a hammer. Some guys have welded a square stock to a old socket to remove. Put
tranny in gear to hold shaft from turning. Remove seal cap to replace the seal.

Thanks for the info. Glad to know it doesn't require splitting and isn't too hard. Will make sure to drain the transmission.

This would be the seal I am looking for, correct?

That could be the seal in the pump at the drive end, not the seal in the drive at the countershaft. Part # 70 in diagram. Part #70
