Where to find oil bath cleaner for Farmall super A

I have a Farmall super a that sat for quite some time and it turns over and starts but the oil bath cleaner pip is rusted out, i've looked around
online but I can't seem to find a replacement for it, I don't necessarily need an original part just something that works because an air filter in
definitely needed!

without a picture its hard to say . maybe replace the rusted section, or go to a muffler shop and have one made.

I am not an expert on the Farmall super A but, are you sure that the oil bath filter unit isn t the same on the Farmall A and the Super A???

That would mean you could get that part from any A.

Hello fixer welcome back! The key here is searching by the part number. I am attaching the manufacturers online parts diagrams for your tractor. If your tractor has a serial number of 355699 or lower the oil cup number is 52871D. A web search showed that Yesterdays Tractors does indeed carry that part, see 2nd link. I should take for granted that people have clicked that big box on top of the forums that says ..Tractor Parts.. If your tractor serial number is above that range you will have to go through the exercise yourself. The air cleaner is found in the chassis section.

While I cannot be sure but I may have an air cleaner from an A/B laying around which should be the same or at least work

What do you mean by the "pip?"

The only thing I can think of on an air cleaner that looks like a "pip" is the mushroom cap that sits above the hood. Those are commonly available new aftermarket for about $40 from dozens of online sources. As long as you don't call it a "pip" because searching for a "farmall super a air cleaner pip" comes up with bupkus.

Other air cleaner parts would need to be sourced used from a salvage yard or off a parts tractor. That often requires more of an "old school" approach, actually using a telephone and going in person to pick up the part.

If you google it probably a bunch of used ones will come up. That's the first thing I do when looking for a used part.

I believe that a Super A is different than an A. The mushroom looking part at the top is shaped different. Also I think the inlet pipe is larger in diameter. So you need to look for a part for a Super A. C or Super C might work also. Describe for us exactly which part you are looking for. The part that goes on top, the pipe and body that bolts to the engine, or the cup that fits on the bottom. Then we can be of more help.

Could this be a simple typo and should say pipe? Thinking the person is referring to the "nipple" on the side outlet where the hose that connects to the carb attaches?

There were minor (unknown to me) changes to the air cleaner through A and Super A production. But they were essentially the same. The cap was changed from A to Super A. But they interchange. On both the body and the cap, the latest Super A part was the replacement supplied for the A (and B etc.). The C and Super C had different parts, I think for a larger intake pipe. Without checking, I think this was used on the Super A1 as well. The larger pipe carried through into the number series tractors.

I took it as he was using ..speech translation.. on his
device and he spoke ..cup.. and it translated ..pip.. and
he did not double check it before posting. The posters
silence is awesome, I am not him so I have to leave it at
that.

take it off and go to a muffler shop and they can replace the inlet pipe for you saves shopping around charges ect
