Hello, I'm looking for a replacement gear shift rod for my International 504 tractor. Already looked on line and all the tips are as bad as mine. Called local dealer, no longer made. Does anyone have a good one to sell at a reasonable price? Sincerely , Dave

Hello Dave welcome to YT! The shifter wearing down
and coming out of the slots of the shift rails is a
common problem on Farmall Hs and Ms and many of
their later variants that the shifter mounts directly on
top of the deck. A common practice on those tractors
is to simply weld up the shifter tip and grind it to
reshape it. The post in the link has the dimensions that
applies to many of the tractors that I referred to above.
I have no idea if it will work on yours. But following the
basics of what is needed, anything that is worn round
needs to be built back and squared up. If you do not
find a good shift lever you may need to resort to
attempting this type of a fix.

Thanks for your information but my tip looks brazed, yellow tint, and I'm afraid any welding to it won't hold up.

Probably already repaired once. Where used red said to weld it, just braze it instead.
