Farmall 300/350 rearend on a Farmall Regular H?

Would that work? As of now just curious, but well see. Were going to restore an H and if the Rearend is toast, its be temping to gain the TA. And would the live pto work? How is that hooked up? Thx. Probably would just put an h rear in if so, however some more knowledge gained is always fun

Most people switch the engines at the clutch bell housing, maybe just the frame rails not sure completely, so all the stuff back will be the same as a H. Not sure how the do the sheet metal etc. as that is a different Height so all the stuff up top is changed to the H. People call the super H TA.

Not easy to meld the platform fuel tank, Hydraulics--reservoir/controls, and hood. there are other issues, but not as serious. SHTA's are not common, not valuable except as a fun thing. Dressing a F300 or F350 as an H is some what less problematic, more powerful, but not much less effort. Body work and adaptation to make a Mut. Jim

That is kind of common. That is what they do to make the 'mythical' Super HTA.I did something similar with an MD rear end onto a 400 front. Everything from clutch houseing foreward is 400. Clutch houseing rear is MD.Used 400 flywheel/pressure plate,MD clutch disk to plug into the MD input shaft. Had to remove the center hub(ground off the rivets) from the pressure plate as the MD has no LPTO.Yep,go for it. While you are at make the mythical beast.SuperHTA

Well I was thinking just a 1944 h with a 300/350 rear but the pump for hydraulics would be gone and Im not sure the mish mash for the pto would be. Not worth work. I forgot about the hydraulics

Put the 'mag' pump from 300 onto H motor. Use the 300 flywheel/ clutch on the H motor.Yes it's a fair bit of work, but not hard. A little bit of head scratching may be rerquired, but a worthwhile and very doable project.BTW,I'm thinking of another similar project. I have a SMTA rearend. Thing of trying to find a cheapo M to make another 'frankentractor'

But the 300 ta section would take out the oil resivor for the hydraulics right? Youd have to put on a super h resivor, if Im thinking correctly

Put HiTran(or equivalent) in the rear end/transmission and use that for your reservoir.Suck it out of the drain and return to the check plug.560 and up uses the trans for a reservoir,so why not a 300?

The cylinders only take a few quarts. The rearend holds gallons. If it works for the bigger/newer tractors(560;806;1256;1086....),it will work on a 300.

Just use a spool valve. Mount it on the floorboard/deck behind your right heel. Extend/lengthen the handle to within easy arm's reach. You need to learn to think outside the box. This whole project is acctually pretty easy. That said, there is a couple ov auctions comeing within the next couple of weeks. One has a 350,the other has a couple of nonrunning Hs. My plan is to buy the 350 for the fast hitch to put on my good 350,which is a drawbar tractor. Then make up the mythical SHTA with a parts H.The 350 is not running but not stuck. We will see.....

What "rear pump?" There is no rear pump on a 300/350. It's up on the engine ahead of the distributor.

To drive the PTO, all you need is the pressure plate with the drive spline for the IPTO tube. All you need is the clutch and pressure plate for the 300/350.
