Farmall C, hewers of wood and drawers of water

New oil pump plate and running just fine. 3 more 1000L totes to outfit. She's a gonna take 4 thousand liters of water out to the plants.

Hope it is flat where you are going to pull all that weight. If you have some hills and wet or dry slick grass you are going to get ..Smarten_up.. real quick like. But do not try it I would hate to see you get in a jam and bust something up or get hurt. If you have hills I would only add one more tote.

I'm out on the Prairie, no hills here. Some ditches to avoid but otherwise flat...
I'll see if the wheels sink when its wet. 10,000 lbs capacity for the wagon.

I was not concerned with the capacity of the wagon, rather the ability of the tractor to hold its footing against the push of the weight. In other words tractor brakes applied wheels locked and just sliding on the grass. Trailer hitch jack knifing and who knows what else maybe even the tractor tipped over. Sounds like you will be fine on level ground. Just be careful if you intend to go out on a public road, your stopping ability will not be the greatest.

Used Red has a legitimate concern. Small tractors (especially light weight tractors) can pull way more than they can get stopped. This doesn't come into one's mind until you try to stop going down a slope. Has gotten many people (including myself) caught up in somewhat of an accident. You don't realize it until you hit the brakes, and all your wheels will do is slide, and then it is to late. And 4 wheel running gears can get nasty fast if they can't be slowed down or stopped. It'll take you for a ride you don't want to be on.

I almost overturned a gravity wagon full of seed and I was only going down a short span of drive way slope. Was in a much larger tractor than a C.
Many can tell a similar story.

You say you gonna keep her on the flat. And if you do, I'm sure you'll be fine. Just remember, no slopes with those totes full of water. Don't take much of one to have trouble strike.

I don't know what it came with out of the factory. I bought the tractor as is and have spent about 4 years restoring it to service as money would allow.
It still needs various seals replaced but I'll get to those eventually. I've had other IH tractors many years ago,
a 300U, 400D, W400D, W6. I also own a 2011 CIH Farmall 40CVT tractor. The 'C' was really just for nostalgia sakes.
And, I think it is a very photogenic old tractor (1949 model year).
