Voltage regulator on Farmall 656

Hello! I have a '67 Farmall 656 hydro gas, and have a quick question (since the diagrams in the manual are borderline useless at times). Where is the voltage regulator located? I'm thinking back of the dash, but would prefer not to have to hunt it down.

Thanks.

Hello Jeff welcome to YT! It is number 59 in the linked
diagram. If you click the diagram it will open like a
picture that you can enlarge. Not sure this is any better
than what you have. I believe the physical location is
below the fuel tank. Earlier models had generators and
later ones alternators but both used regulators. Have
you been the long time owner? If not and it has an
alternator there is a possibility it has been converted to
an internally regulated alternator as the external
regulator may have been eliminated. Sorry, if you have
to navigate some adds in that link. I would have
attached the factory CNHI parts diagram but it is being
a little uncooperative at the moment.

Under the tank or back towards the dash seems likely. I shall have to eyeball it. My dad bought the tractor 30 years ago, I inherited it when he passed 4 years ago. The maintenance and repairs have definitely been a steep learning curve lol.

The regulator is actually under the right rear side panel behind fuel tank. Tough to get at and
make adjustments without dropping it down off it's mount.

The actual wiring diagram is quite simple but it does not necessarily show you exactly where
components are located.

The illustration in the parts manual doesn't show the actual circuits, just general layout. There
are actual wiring diagrams online if you poke around.
