IH 80 Snowblower

Recently acquired an IH 80 snowblower with the hydraulic chute. The problem is the cable that turns the chute is all messed up. Does anyone know of a diagram that shows how to put the cable back on properly?

There should be a lug on the chute near the base. Attach one end of the cable wrap it counterclockwise around the chute once and then go to pulley on the auger drive side, then to the pulley on the other side, then back to the same lug that holds the other end of the cable.

The cable should turn freely through the pulleys when you rotate the chute by hand, Angle the chute hard to the auger drive side then use a cable clamp to make a loop in the cable for the swing rod. You may have to adjust the cable clamp to get the chute to swing properly.

Been there done that on my 70...

There is a page in the owners manual that covers this. Hopefully you can read it. If you can't read it, email me and I can send it to you.
