Cub long stripe

Drove to south AL yesterday to buy a
cub. Seller said her late husband took
it to a friend for paint. It got painted
but never put together, paint guy passed
away. Two years later tractor is brought
home and put together, then owner passed
away. ( Both guys in late '80s) so it
sits another year. Widow finally sells
it to me. Tag is covered in paint, but
under the hood paint I can see an
outline of a decal running almost to the
back of gas tank. Casting codes show
'75. Got a little paint stripper on the
tag this morning, hope to read the
serial number soon. But curious, what is
different about a long stripe cub?

Lot of deaths associated with this tractor - don't turn your back on it. LOL. I'm kind of speculating a bit here but didn't some of the Cubs of that time period have a black strip behind the Farmall decal. Thought I have seen some like that but sometimes I see things that are only my imagination.

That's what "long stripe" is referring to. However, the Farmall name was dropped on Cubs in 1964, so it's actually a black stripe behind the "International."

Just a guess from some quick research.

The long stripe Cub came out about the time of the Black Stripe 66 series tractors did. Yours should have a Zenith carb and an Alternator. The Governed engine rpms should be 2080 up from 1800. There maybe more changes I am not aware of or some one will be along to correct my research.
