What is the part number for hydraulic fluid for a 706? This bucket doesn't have any IH specs just Case. I assume some of these numbers are for IH tractors.

It has to say for hydraulic and transmission. Cant tell a thing from that pail. Ihc oil is called hytran for your tractor. Cant just use standard hyd. Oil. Any off brand oils say right on the pail for hydraulic transmission applications. At least show the whole pail so someone might know what u have there.

If you're going to run cheap oil instead of Hytran. Then go to a real oil distributor that is reputable and have them get an oil suitable for the job will not cost much more than the Oil you are looking at and will be within spec for your tractor. We use a tractor hydraulic fluid and buy by the barrel for the job with no known issues for the last 40+ years. Used in everything from the 574to the 1466.

None of the "part numbers" (really specifications) you show are for any recent version of Hy-Tran.

The spec you are looking for is "MS 1209," though, I would not trust a bucket that can't even be bothered to get the brand right. CASE has nothing to do with Hy-Tran. The bucket should read "International," "IH" or "CaseIH."

Hytran is 'recomended'.However,my nearest IH dealer is 300 miles away on the other side of the continental divide.JD Hygard,Phillips HG Fluid, and others meet specs and are avceptable.

I worked for a short while at small tractor repair shop, which had been a CIH dealer. We had Hy-Tran, but mostly we used and sold, Shell Spirex (sp?). Mark.

I looked at my CaseIH dealers web page. According to that they no longer carry Hy tran for the older tractors. The cheapest fluid on their site is $117 for five gallon bucket. You have to buy it by the pallet. Does not surprise me. I tried to buy a can of spray paint there last summer. They would only sell that by the case.

We do not have any oil distributors here. Only an Orscleans store forty five miles away.

It looks like it MIGHT be MS1209, the picture shows MS1205, MS1206, M1207, but then went on to the next line and it isn't in the picture. Tractor Supply has Traveller
Premium Hydraulic Oil ISO 46, that I would use in a 706 if I was really trying to save money. I did use Hytran in my 706 from 5 gallon buckets - it was expensive for a
full fill.
