I have a '48 Farmall S/A.

I need to verify the Magneto timing.

I know where the timing marks are.

The subject area is greasy & dirty.

I am 90 years old.

Put a cotton ball gently into #1 plug hole (kinda on the out side. Turn the engine slowly until it pops out. Put a soda straw down the plug hole and turn the engine CW from the front until it gets as high as it can go. Weasel it back and forth to assure it is on TDC. Time it. You might have a grand kid clean the flywheel right there as the mark will be showing after degreasing. Jim

The mag fires on tdc just get #1 piston on tdc compression the mag to #1wire and install. Make sure the rotor is lined up with the tower when is impulses. #1 post on the mag is the 1oclock position and the cap will usually have it marked
