Fast hitch plows

I am new to using a fast hitch plow and am wondering how one goes about leveling the plow from front to back. Seems to me with the fast hitch arms pivoting at a single point under the tractor, the rear of a fast hitch plow will move up and down more than the front of the plow when changing the depth of the plow. So how do you get all bottoms to plow at the same depth? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Well usually three bottom and up had a gauge wheel that rode on the land and you had some adjustment at the hitch . My first set of plows were 311 then a 411 then i found out that i could haul 540semi mounts way better and easier and faster . The way i set mine first set was to place the tractor and plow on a level surface then place and 8 inch block under the left rear tire and and 8 inch block under the tric ft. and then made my adjustment for the infurrow then set the tractor flat for the first round to see how may turns of the leveling box was needed when dropping in a furrow i also had to change bolt holes on the plow hitch as the plow i bought must have been on a wide ft tractor . and i also set my depth wheel with and 8 inch block . when i went to the field everything was almost dead on and a couple turns on the leveling box you could not tell where the first three started and the next three came in . But by them i had almost 18 years of plowing under my belt First starting at age 8 with two bottom drag and working my up from there.

I got a 3x16 fast hitch plow, and i got the depth wheel for on the Land, You also got a cylinder in back that controls the rear,i highly recomend depth stop's on that cylinder, to control that end of it! It's a easy plow to adjust, and they do a nice job!

Ideally you should have the plow's owner's manual, or any fast hitch plow's manual for that matter, to instruct you on the proper hitch setup.

The first generation fast hitch has depth control to adjust the front of the hitch up and down to some extent. That would come on the Super C, 100, 200, 300, and 400.

Second generation is the traction control, doesn't have a way to change the angle at the front, but as I recall there are some pins you need to remove on these hitches for plowing to allow the plow to seek its own level.

A big help from you would be what specific model of tractor and plow
do you have. For example a 300 utility has a specific plow-uf 20- that
is the only plow that is designed for it. The fast hitch on a 300u is
different from other models so it requires that specific plow to work
properly. Mark.

Mark, my tractor is a Farmall 300 row crop and the plow I am looking at is 3 bottom, I think the model is 309. Thanks

Hitch like picture of one on a tractor or one off tractor?

Barnyard, my 300 is one of the last ones to come off the assembly line and thus has the 2nd generation fast hitch. I think they changed the fast hitch sometime toward the end of the 300/400 production line.

Ok, as far as I know all you can do with those is remove the locking pins from the sockets so the arms are free to pivot upwards. Then at the proper depth the plow will seek its own level.

On first furrow, crank down the leveling lift rod, right side with crank. Then on next run, crank back up to level up plow. Set depth with adjustment rod on lift cylinder.

Also if you have it set up so that there is down pressure, you must remove that pin. It should be at bottom of lift cylinder??. Plow must be free floating.
