574 front axles

I looking for information on the front axle on a 574. It has the swept back axle. I'm looking for the solid beam type axle like the industrial models. Do I need to change the front bolster casting or will it fit fine with out and is the steering part of it such I can change the lines or do I have a whole different animal here doing this. Also looking at cost. I need to go through the whole front axle on what I have. It needs one of the knees to be cut loose and rewelded so it sets right. Wears tires on the outside edge at this time.

I would look for a straight front axle from a 684 or 784 like the photo below. You will also have to get the front hubs as they are larger bearings than the swept back axles.
Re Bolsters, all I know is there are different bolsters with 3 or 4 bolt holes on the side for mounting loaders etc.
This axle has the bolts going in horizontal not vertical like the other axles that like to loosen and crack.
Neighbor had one of these straight axles on his 574 with loader and he used this tractor for farm work and also to load logs in the woods for many years and never had an issue.

If you are referring to the cast front axle (non adjustable) the front bolster is different.

The swept back axle wasn't common in these parts, almost all of those series had the axle like JimB2 posted.

Yup that is what I was wanting to do. Put the Beam type axle under it. And yes it has the swept back axle on it now. I've seen the axle like Jim shows of the axle. I was hoping to go to the beam type though the other one would have some promise of working better than the one we have. Those vertical bolts just don't get it with a loader on there. They are fine for regular field work or such. Though it has been used with the loader since new in the 70's with s fair amount of maintenance. Mpstly spindles and knees.

I'd say the only practical way to do it is find a donor tractor, by the time you do that another tractor might be a better idea. IH 2500 industrial (I think) is the yellow 574 with cast axle and shuttle shift.

I'm running the standard adjustable on a 95 series, no issues, but loader is off the tractor lots, and it's been retired from most loader work by a much newer fwa tractor.

I know the grill, side panels etc are different on a cast axle tractor (at least on the newer series) since the bolster is different.

I was afraid of that being the case. I would like to go to a MFWd loader. Prices lean me towards a more commercial loader like a articulated industrial loader. I can get some of those in Deere or Cat for about the same money as I would for an Ag tractor with a loader on. We have enough tractors on lost from PTO and 3pt I don't use much is not really a problem.
