300U split and stuck engine...

Well, formerly stuck engine. She came loose today. I had diesel in there for several days. Cleaned that out and replaced with just a small amount of ATF for two days while I was away. Today I came back...still waiting on the panther p to arrive so I used PB instead. Cut a branch off a tree that was the right diameter. Made a short piece and a long piece to use depending on whether the pistons were at TDC or not. Every time I walk by I give a few wacks to each piston with the wood an BFH and checked the fan for movement. End of day, same thing and no movement. Gave the two TDC pistons 3 light taps with a blacksmith hammer...no wood. Grabbed the fan and now they are free. Must have been right at the brink because I barely tapped them. Also still waiting on the hone to arrive. When it does I will clean it up lightly and post pictures of each sleeve. Patience and persistence...all it took.

Near TDC is a difficult position because the crank position is awkward and must accelerate substantially for piston movement. It will go !!! Jim
