Farmall 240 hydraulics

I recently bought property and a Farmall 240 came with it. The two point hitch doesnt raise immediately when I pull the level. It creeps up little by little. Eventually it raises the entire way. My question is does it simply need some hydro fluid or does that sound like more of a problem?

Do the obvious stuff first. Check the fluid level. Add as necessary. Change the hydraulic fluid filter and gasket.

Unfortunately hydraulic filters are no longer available for this tractor.

If the engine seems to react to the lever movement by changing its sound, it could be a restriction or lever adjustment. If it lifts with power enough to lift 300 pounds, just slow, it is likely a restriction/adjustment, not a pump/pressure issue. Jim
