farmall f12 fuel pump push rod length

I believe it should be 7".
AC Pump Shop Manual says normal stroke for the diaphragm is 1/64". Not sure how far the push rod needs to push the rocker arm in the pump to achieve that.

i hardly think 1/64th will do anything. wont even see it move with that spec. maybe 1/16 th seams more like it. i would venture and say it
has to move 1/8 put the rod in and measure how much it pushes out. then move the pump lever by hand that much and see if you have suction.
those 2 valves must be free and working also inside the pump.

Yes, 1/64 seems a very short movement - I haven't actually measured the diaphragm movement - just read it in the AC Fuel Pump Manual.

Most of my push rods have been welded and ground down to between 7-1/16 and 7-1/8
The travel on the rod is about 1/4 to 5/16
the springs in the pump take up any slack.

If you build the rod up,you can actually make it to long.I have used several gaskets on the pump, and adjusted the lenght by removing the
gaskets

I bought a copy on ebay. It is an AC book titled
"How to Service Fuel Pumps and Gasoline Strainers"
It is detailed with excellent diagrams. I can easily scan it if you wish. My e-mail is (or at least should be) open in modern view. Not sure about classic view.
