WD9 needs a good home

Hey folks I have what I believe a 1954 WD9 basket case that needs a good home. The tractor is complete less an exhaust. That was the demise of the machine. When I got this thing it was stuck. I tore it apart hoping to restore it, but have not the funds to support a restore vs practicality. I had some new valves and the head reworked, came to find out that one of the injectors is stuck in the head. Machine shop guy said the head was god, but... Block looks good, I was able to get the sleeves out ok. Crank looks ok, but I never went any further w/ the project.

If you want to come get it, and load it, you can have it. Id like someone that loves old tractors like you folks to have it.

Thanks,
Wheaty

I have posted on here about this same very tractor before. If you go back through the history on my posts I talked about it before. Might have some more detail on it.

A 54 would be a super Wd9? I have several of that type of
tractor. Love em but expensive to repair. I would be interested
But truck and trailer are parked until spring.

We have a 16 year old young man in our club that would LOVE to have it for a project. Transport would be something we would have to arrange.

My dad would love to have it. He is a retired diesel tech. Had
one back in the 70's. Always said he would buy another one when
he retired. He is 80and broke his neck last spring. Spend four
months in the hospital. He is home now but his tractor playing
days are over.

I?m the 16 year old Ken mentioned below. I just created this profile simply to express my HUGE want for your tractor. And just so you know it?d be going to a good home it would be coming to a smallish sort of hobby farm to do things we would need of it on the farm. This would be my first tractor (although not my first to operate) and would love to take on such a project!! I hope we can work something out on this! Thanks for reading, Connor.

I'm sure someone has arranged to get this picked up by now, and not trying to be negative, but for a first tractor for a 16yo to try and I restore I think this would be a very poor choice even with it being free.
For what it would cost to rebuild the engine alone in this tractor, you can probably buy and "restore" 4 Farmall H's.
If many parts at all are needed for the engine, it would not be unheard of to spend a few/several thousand dollars to get this tractor in decent operating condition.

Ok Folks, the last guy fell through. This tractor is still available. Again its a basket case. U can come get it and load it and take it home. Otherwise its heading for scrap.

Thanks,

Wheaty
