Farmall M or Super M with JD 45 Loader

I'm looking for some pics of the original JD 45 Loader mounting brackets installed on an M or Super M. I would like to see how they actually fit onto the axles, and if any modifications to the clamps on the axles for the U-shape drawbar is needed.

If you have an M or Super M with those brackets bolted on the axle housings, could you please post some pics of the both the left and right sides?

Thank you.

I have a JD 45 Loader on a 620, and just bought another 45 loader with the Deere brackets that fit a 620. I bought some brackets separately from another source that were said to fit on a Super M. They do not fit, as the bolt holes are too close together vertically to go around the Super M axle housing, they're too wide to clear the brake housings when positioned as needed for the loader, etc They are a very crude, homemade bracket and will not work,

I would like to see the brackets which were designed by JD, to a Super M, actually installed on an M or Super M, to see how they clear the U-shape drawbar clamps, etc.

I have the parts book drawings you posted, and have never found any brackets for sale by those numbers, or anything for sale that even looks like them. For this project, I want a decent looking bracket and not something so botched-up like I already have that won't even go on a Super M.

It looks to me like number 4 is the typical back bar to put a bolt on the top and bottom of the axle to clamp the bracket to the axle, as is the drawbar on the back side. I would say if the brackets you have do not have holes far enough apart to accommodate that they are not the one Deere shows to mount it on a Super M or any Farmall in the H through 450 range.

I had a 45W on a Super M.IIRC,I think I just drilled one hole in the bracket and made a couple of straps(1/2x2 inch) to go around the axle.

Yes, item 4 in the drawing goes on the back side of the axle housing. That is the same location and method that an IH Model 30 and 31 loader fastens to an M/Super M axle housing. I have one of each of those loaders on an M and Super M.

My brackets simply will not work on either side of the tractor. No idea what they must have been on, but it sure wasn't any original M, Super M, or 400 like I have.

Only way to use them is to cut the channels off, make new mounting plates/brackets and weld channels onto them. Not even sure the plates I have can be re-used due to bolt spacing needed. I'm not sure how the Deere designed brackets positioned the loader left/right on a Super M, since the right side mounts farther out on a JD to clear the clutch/belt pulley. I just wanted the loader to set on the Super M like it was intended.
