I took it off, took it apart, cleeaned it again, made sure the float and needle worked flawlesly, sprayed oil on where the float swings, carefully put it back together. Waited a day for the oil to get into wherever it might have to. Started it yesterday. No difference. Im going to, tonight, take it off and apart again. Im going to leave the gas line hooked up, and turn the gas on, and move the float up and down. The only thing I can figure at this point is that the float has a hole in it, tho I never noticed any weight in it while moving it up and down to see if the needle worked. Thanks for all and any of your replys

Is it flooding or staving for gas??Remove the float and shake it and if it rattle it is bad. By the way oil in the float area will not help since the gas will wash it off in a heart beat.

There can be trash above the needle's seat. the screen in the fitting is another location for stoppage. Jim

Usually a float that is leaking will have gas in it, and to
cause a problem down the line of not shutting the gas off at
the proper level it has to have for it to sink. Usually when
you shake it gas will appear on the surface of the dry float
where it is leaking back out.

I put the top back and hooked up the gas. I worked the float around 16 times. Gas came out flowing when I lowered the float, and stopped when I raised it. (one way or the other). I only noticed that it took a second or less for the needle to drop down, but it always did when I activated the float.
