Thanks for the left side picture. I see by the curve in the rod that controls the rear arms that someone has been trying to get down pressure back there. My '48 Super A has a 1" X 1/2" bar that did the same thing. I straightened it, then slid a piece of square tubing over it. Now I have down pressure for the rear blade.

Yep, I need to find a new, straight rod. When I fully lower the rear, the rod scrapes the fender.

Hey Tyler,
Regarding that bent rod, I found an easy way to straighten it. Mine was also bent to the point of hitting the fender. Take to rod off and use it like a pry bar up against the drawbar. You can also stick it through one of the holes in the drawbar and pry. The tractor makes a good immovable object to pry against. The bar should have two bends in it, one near the front and one near the rear. You will see them. This job took me about 15 min. Now it is perfect.

Hey Tyler, looks good. Did you ever get the broken bolts out of the bell housing? If so, was it as hard as you thought it was? Just curious. Steve T

What appeared to be broken bolts in the bell housing, were indeed corks. It was a good deal not to have to fuss with that.

Take care,
Tyman

Tyler;
I have enjoyed your series on the Super A but you seem to be partial to the r/h side of the tractor. What's the left side look like?

I have been admiring your dad's Super A and your pictures. I am hoping to buy a digital camera soon. Do you have any suggestions? Bill

I looked at a lot of digital cameras before I purchased. I liked the 2.1 megapixel for good crisp pics. I got a good price on the net for a Nikon Coolpix 800. Here's the link.

Tyler for some reason I thought you had already moved that Super A to the farm. Old age is catching up with me. :(

Finished the clutch work on Thursday. Took most of the day to do the front axles yesterday. I found it easier to haul the tractor down to my location, (2 1/2 hrs from farm), to work on. Easier access to parts, computer, and you guys. :-)

Took it back to the farm this morning.

Take care,
Tyman
