560 Diesel water trap

I cleaned it out yesterday, Had some trouble getting it to seal back up so thinking I need a new gasket. This site lists one that is for glass bowl that is 2 1/8 inside and 2.15 on the outside. Since mine is back on I can't measure inside but it measures about 2.86 on the outside. Also pasts book shows a cone shaped filter screen inside that I don't have. Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't see a gasket for a 560 diesel on this site. Your bowl would measure about .250 less inside than outside as glass would be about .125 thick. The gasket is pretty wide though and normally a rubber or neoprene type. There should be brass tube down the middle and a that tapered screen fit up on it.

Those water traps warp so bad they are really hard to seal. I have straightened a few over the years to make them seal by using a arbor press and what ever fits inside and outside.

Mine looks a little warped but thought it was my imagination. It doesn't have the screen in it. I am about out of threads on the bottom to tighten it up. Maybe try 2 gaskets? I have a parts 560d but the water trap was removed on it so fuel goes directly from thank to screw on type fuel filter.
