560 TA Replacement

I am in the process of replacing the TA in a 560. I am having difficulty removing the TA clutch shaft. The throwout bearing carrier does not want to budge on the shaft at all. I had a donor TA section that had the exact same problem and I had to cut the shaft. I assumed that carrier was just rusted to the shaft and wasn't too concerned. But now the recipient tractor which isn't rusted is having the exact same problem. Yes, I removed the locking screw on top of the shaft. Am I missing something else obvious??? I haven't tried applying heat yet, just penetrating fluid.

Did you remove the retaining clip on right side of shaft? Can usually remove if not rusted. You may already know this but shaft can slide part way and turn and get key ways out of line, then need turned to get back in line. Think this the T/A clutch operating cross shaft you want to remove. They can be trouble sometimes.

I just did one here, had to get a little rough with a big brass punch to get it to move. Once you get it moved far enough then you can spin the shaft and remove the key.
Some heat might be necessary if its that tight.

Thanks for the diagram and info. Yes, I removed clip though I must admit I didn't notice it at first. I don't think the main clutch shaft has one. The shaft is free and moves. It's just the yoke that is stubborn. Anyway I will have to take a closer look regarding the key(s). I will work on it tomorrow. Maybe add some heat.
