There's one advertised at a farm auction this weekend. I know nothing about the W-30 except that they were built from 1934 to 1937 and I think it has steel wheels. Might it be a collector tractor? Any concerns?

I have a W30 and they are an interesting tractor to restore. A W30 is the standard tread version of the farmall F-30. Concerning value, I think it depends on the area - some areas only have standard tread versions of tractors and thus in such areas the farmall version would be more popular for restoration and value. Later W30's could be found on rubber tires and many have been converted. Most parts are still available.

I've learned that the tractor at auction this Saturday has rubber wheels, not steel as I had thought. At this point I don't know its serial number, whether or not the engine is stuck, or anything else. I have learned some things from the ytmag.com discussion archives relating to the W30. Thanks for replying to my post. I'll let you know what I find at the auction. Who knows, I may buy it.
