What is the number on the generator the regulator must be for that generator and after all the yrs is the generator still factory remember the generator does the charging not the regulator. Ground the field when the motor is running if that makes it charge the reg is bad but if grounding the fiels does noot charge the generator is bad you need a meter to read the voltages not a digital but an analog meter.

the generator is a 100055 which I believe is original. I have no regulator to determine if it is good or not. Tractor was tore down and reg disappeared. I need to buy a new one that is why I want to get the correct one.

Your generator number was probably 1100055 (one more digit than in your post). It was used from the very end of '62 until mid-'64 when they changed to 12-volts. Original regulators were 1118982 or 1119575. You should be able to find currently available regulators that cross to those numbers.
