corn head grease???

If you have some of one of them in a gear box, and have the other on hand, do mix them is the necessity is to use the tool. But why not buy the same? brand and use it. The definition of corn head grease is usually arbitrary and based mostly on its consistency NLGi OEP grade. Much of what I see advertised is Polyurea based. If both are that base I would use them interchangeably and mix them. Jim

I used the IH in a gearbox but also have easy access to some JD. I think the 2 IH tubes I put in the gearbox should be enough, but I won't truly know until I run it a little. So I will just have to make it a point to go and get some IH again. The JD I have access to is a lot cheaper because of a discount than the IH which I don't have any discount for.

Ah, blend up your own. I put 50-50 mixture of red RED wheel bearing grease and 90 wt. oil in a coffee can, whip it up with a coat hanger in my drill, and use it. Adjust the mix to your preference. I use this in my steering gear boxes on letter-series Farmalls, stays inn place works great. Doees not separate. And it's RED so it is legit.
