Farmall sickle mower

I found a farmall sickle mower for sale and the guy lists it as last used on a C. What are the chances that it will fit a H without too much screwing around? It's a couple hours away so don't want to waste the time if it has no chance of working for me.

From what I have seen in photos the back of a C looks a lot different then the back of a H.

There are many models of IH mowers. Some are somewhat 'universal', Some will 'fit' just about any with hoop drawbar. Some are tractor specific. However, the lifting system on each tractor is vastly different. No way to tell without knowing which mower, and pics of said
mower and tractor hitches to see if they are compatible. My advise,Pass it by.

Thanks for the replies guys. My H is a 1940 with no lift all but does have a hyd pump. I should see if they know what model it is.

If the "H" has the hydraulic pump then you use a remote cylinder to lift the cutter bar on sickle mowers. My IH
mower just sits on a frame in back of the tractor and was on a "H" John Deere. Not anything difficult as long as the
PTO is lined up. Early tractors with Hydraulics used a cylinders to lift everything from loaders to trailer plows-
disk-mowers-cultivators???
