806 running rough-see video

Posting this a second time because of video issues. I have a 806 gasser that has been sitting for a year. Pulled tank and cleaned/rinsed, new fuel bowl and carb cleaned. I have been working on this on and off for a week. It seems to run like in the video most of the time. Today I put in new plugs, wires, cap and rotor and did not see much of a change. Last night I pulled the carb off for the 5th time, cleaned, new float and float adjust, new needle and seat, not much of a change. The video is at idle, if you give it any throttle it will die. I cannot see the sediment bowl in the tank because of the baffle, but seem to have good fuel to the carb. Not much to adjust on the carb, unsure what else to do. Replaced ignition components except coil and points. Do I have a fuel problem? or ignition problem? Thanks

Put some power to the fuel shutoff solenoid & see if that makes a difference. If it's not energized, it's closed & there's little to no fuel going to your main jet. It's possible that it no longer works, in that case, just replace it.

I cut that shut off needle several years ago, and it ran fine, so I know its not that and getting full fuel, at least there. Thanks

get a misting bottle and mist some gas in the intake while its running . if it smartens up you know its in the carb.

Sounds like you didn't do what the problem is. The points! My M ran similar this summer and it was the points.

Valves. Famous for burning seats and valves
Also famous for blowing head gaskets.
Compression test will reveal weak cyls.

No what i saw of the carb tells me that you Washed it out , not cleaned . If i had that carb and I cleaned that carb there would Be NO pain left and each and every tiny passage would have been REAMED . A can of carb and choke cleaner is NOT going to clean a carb . Next what i heard on your video tells me you have a manifold leak , i also see that the heat riser spring is not present and probable stuck . There are Probably OTHER factors involved as to why it is running poorly . so here is a quick run down, Possible problems in the dist. , valve adjustment , low compression , valve leakage , scored cylinder walls , wrong heat range on plugs , incorrect ing timing lack of proper fuel used .

yes thats the same conclusion i came up with, a wash job. if it was soaked there would be no paint on that carb! and it would be running right.

Yup , you give them a deep bath in what i use and if it can be eaten then they come out clean as new , now if there is RUST plugging a passage then well ya got to go excavating and bore with the big auger . The carb on MY s/MTA was the one that gave me the most fits . Lots of shell we say colorful words used on that one . I still have some of the OLD stuff that makes the EPA have nightmares and will remove four layers of hide if you get it on you before you can make it to the sink and wash it off. BUT he still has other issues to address. and today with the gas you are wasting time and money on a newer big gas tractor .
