warning lamp bulb

How does the lens come off to replace the GE1156 bulb in the round OEM warning lamp on factory cab on 1066? I'm not a real smart man.

If you don’t see any screws look for a notch between the edge of the lens and the light body that a screwdriver blade would fit in. Insert screwdriver and gently twist to pop the lens off. Some lights don’t have the notches so you may have to use a thin putty knife or table knife to work into the seam.

The transmission red warning lamp was two different types. One style, you just turned the lens off counter clockwise. Easy. Old style was a spring loaded holder and you have to get in behind it to release by pushing holder and turning at same time. A real pain in the drain as that spring is pretty strong and difficult to get a good hold on.

I changed a lot of them over to the later style but don't remember when the change was made as the spring loaded one was used 56 series tractors so those were the ones I was changing over.

Pete, I am pretty sure he was asking about an external flasher coming off the cab exterior. Not many dash bulbs are 1156. Not flaming you just trying to clarify the way I understood his request.

After reading that again, I believe you are correct. In that case, if no screws the lens pops off and hopefully it isn't brittle and break.

Finished up today, luckily prob was at harness connector at RH step. Supposedly there is a small screw at base of lamp only on 1 side? Thank You Guys for reply's.
