Is coolant suppose to come out of injector bolts 460D?

I removed the #5 injector on a D236 and coolant came out of both bolt holes when I removed bolts. Not sure if i should be alarmed.

That really does not sound healthy. Wonder if you don't have the same issue I was concerned about? The gasket leaking coolant into the cylinder, filling it past the injector & it ran down through the line into the pump. It at least sounds plausible to me. Can't wait to read what the pro's say.

Don’t think so. I’ve never seen it. If you need a head I have one that’s good just need going through.just took it off my 560 a couple months ago.
I replaced it because I had this one that had just been rebuilt and the engine had deeper issues.
I’d sell it reasonable.

If the fuel system is primed it's not very likely to get coolant down the injector lines to the pump. I don't understand all these head gasket leaks. If the block is flat and the head is flat with a good gasket should be no problems. I always just put gun grease on my head gaskets when I put them on unless it has a stickem already on it. I do use a straightedge and a light to check for any light coming through under the straight edge on both the block and the head. It also has been about 30 years since I have had to replace a head gasket.

coolant should not be coming out of those bolt holes! this means you have screwed too long of bolts right into the water jacket.

This has nothing to do with the head gasket or fuel system. Cooant comes out of threaded holes that bolts the injector down tight.

Correct answer. Using pipe dope, or teflon tape on the bolts (of correct length should fix it. Put the bolts in with the coolant below the holes. Jim
