have a 1066 with next to zero 3 point and remotes. Replaced o rings in hitch pump cover and Is full of fluid. Worked fine then Broke a pto shaft on mower and then wouldn't work. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or just coincidence. Where do I look next.

Sounds like the relief valve it is located on the right side of tractor under the fuel tank, take it out and give it a good smack with a hammer on the on the head where the numbers are while you hold it in your hand most of the time that does the trick. A quick check when the valve is out you should not be able to blow through it if you can it is stuck open.

PTO has its own hydraulic pump. Their only common point of failure is the IPTO drive at the pressure plate on the flywheel.

It could be that your IPTO drive was close to stripping out and the shock from whatever broke the PTO shaft also finished that off.

Does the tractor make any funny noise up around the clutch/bell housing area?

you are thinking about 86 series tractors. they had rear fuel tank. the 66 series fuel tanks were in front of steering wheel

does your steering, brakes and ta work? if they work not the splines in preasure plate. The MCV valve only controls oil to steering, brakes and ta.

Put a load on your scv if it lifts it
s not the drive spline. If not then probably is. Take cover of the bottom of the clutch/bell housing look up in there. With it running do not try to reach or stick anything in there as the flywheel will catch it. See if the shaft is turning if not split time. If is then may be the lower bearing or a broken shaft back further though not real likely. Right in there a head of the pump there is a shaft coupling with a cotter pin in the middle of it. Might have come loose and slide endways or split.

Good thing pto and steering works. Got of hard work that dont have to be done spliting tractor. Now it has to be eigher the rear pump or reileif valve. Why did you have to replace orings on pump? Was gear tight on pump, or keyway sheared off? But first thing I would do is take relief vale out and make sure it not stuck. Good luck
