Which B Gas Tank?

I bought a 1947 B that did not have a gas tank on it. I understand that there are two types of gas tanks: one with the sediment bowl close to the edge of the tank and one that is set back a little further in. Does anyone know which tank I am looking for? Thank you!

If yours is a Distillate, or Kerosene engine with the hot manifold, and a starting tank, I thing (but could be wrong) that the tank with the forward located hole is correct. If gasoline only, middle location. Memory based. Jim

The hood fastens to the tank at the rear. Early A & B tanks ('39 & '40) are made for the Dzus 1/4 turn fasteners for the hood, later ('41-'47) have the brackets for the spring loaded "J" hooks to fasten the hood.

You want the later style for your '47.

I have had at least 25 Bs buy and sell a few with the dual fuel systems and never seen any other all have the same place for the sediment bowl
