Had to rebuild my pto recently and finally got caught up so I could hook up to the mower.Went out and made a few circles and headed for the shop to do some more maintenance on the mower. It started whining off and on and by the time I got to the shop, I had no power steering. The steering motor turns, but no action from the steering cylinder.Anybody got a suggestion? The hydraulic reservoir is full.

Check if the brakes work, the SCV the 3 point PTO are still working. If not then it is split time to replace the drive in the pressure plate and the gear in the front of the transmission. IF the rear and 3point work and not brakes. Then you need to look at your MCV and if the pump is working there. IF the PTO works and the SCV 3 point don't then your drive connections inside should be ok. IF non of this helps after checking filter look for a leak in the lines to the steering though it should still steer unless the lines disconnected. IF non of this works try 5 gallon over fill. I do believe you will find either the MCV or the pump on the back of it is your problem though. There are a few other more in depth things that could the problem though I would doubt them at this time also.
