I have a 1949 Farmall c. It’s been sitting for a few years and looking at the gas tank it is really dirty. It needs to come off to be cleaned. Can the tank be removed fairly easily or is there more involved such as removing touch control linkages and such? Thanks in advance.

Guess it depends on what you call easy!

Disconnected fuel lines, 4 bolts at front of tank (connecting it to engine) and 2 attached to Touch-Control Unit then just lift off, NO control rods to disconnect

Easy remove the two bolts holding the front bracket to the block and the back couple on top of the hy unit and the gas line off the sediment bowl. The two on the block is easier than the four on top of that bracket

Sediment bowls passage build with white solids from new gas. Run a drill up it to clearing.
Suggest This I m not sure how you intend to clean ,you remove the 5/16 steel line and save it . Run 5/16 rubber fuel hose from tank to carburetor with a wix 5/16 fuel filter to capture rust from upper tank half that will flake down ,
