Need "input" on a good mowing tractor...old is fine...I can leave a mower on this one......IH 560 be ok? I have alot of trees to mow under and corals ....would maybe like live PTO and a belly mower if any of you think this would be ok? Thanks!

I used my H Farmall,it had power steering,4th gear was just right speed, ran cheap, narrow enough so i didn't run over standing crop, but i didn't have any trees either !

A 560 is probably too big. Not sure what kind of mowing you are wanting to do. Brush hogging?Finish mowing your lawn/yard? Sickle bar for hay?...A smaller 'utility' type tractor might be a better choice.

I like my IH 184 Cub LoBoy. Picture not mine.

It may take some searching, but a Hydro 84 would be exactly like an over-grown Cub Cadet on steroids. IH Doncaster England made them as skidded units and shipped them to Louisville to be completed. About the same size as a 584/684 utility with full hydrostatic transmission. No clutch forward or reverse, infinent speeds from 18 mph forward to 8 mph reverse. Rugged 246 cid IH Nuess diesel engine rated 58-3/4 hp. I'm sure WOODS makes a 6-7 ft mid-mount mower that will fit under them. Low profile to get under trees, great power steering, live pto, live hyd.
Neighbor mows with a CIH 995 tractor pulling a 15 ft batwing, the 995 is about the same physical size but 95 pto hp so a tiny bit bigger and 10 years newer and it appears to handle that batwing really well. Similar 268 cid IH Nuess 4 cyl diesel engine. The Neighbor's has gears, has to stop and shift but seems to have a gear for everything.
That whole series of tractors was very durable, biggest problem I heard of was people leaving the parking brake on, and not easy to replace.

300;330;350 utility would be a great tractor for mowing. Or there are several newer IH(and other 'colors')utilities that would be quite nice. You think an H is high? A 560 is 3 times the tractor that an H is, And half again as tall.460 utility is a possibility. If you can find one.
