784 water problem

I have a 784 Diesel that is belching up water, (out of radiator with ten pound cap) temp. gauge scale lets say 9 to 3 on clock, needle reads 10-11, gauge works fine. this is with 8 ft. disk running in L-4 at 1500 rpm If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
David

Sounds like the radiator is plugged. They will puke water out the top when they get hot from that. I would start there first then check for cavitation leaks in the sleeves. Will have to pull the pan for the later.

Same as Cat guy and run the engine about 1800 RPM and look at the bottom rad hose, if it appears to be collapsing then it is time to take rad off and have it steam cleaned as the cores have built up with scale. Other people has used a solution of water and vinegar to try to descale a rad.

Your description of ..belching.. describes more then what I am going to mention. If you had this tractor a while and are familiar with it you can probably disregard this first comment. The coolant needs some space to expand as it heats up. You cannot fill the radiator full to the very top when it is cold. An inch and a half down from the radiator cap neck is full cold. Unfortunately it sounds more like compression is making its way into the cooling system either through a failing head gasket or cavitated cylinder sleeves. In my experience a collapsed hose or plugged radiator core will make the temp gauge show hot, which according to your statement it is not.

Thanks, pull the pan not good, but, man has to do what a man has to do.

Again thanks to everyone greatly appreciated.

if the rad was too full it would push some coolant out. but u say belching up water ,.. good indication of head gasket problem or a crack in head. look in rad for bubbles if so means tear down. you did not say if its a one time thing then stops or its a continuing thing .. if so tear down. but yes also feel lower rad hose if cool rad is plugged.
