I posted a message several months ago that 560 was plugging hydraulic filters after short use.I had changed oil several times and I don't remember how many filters. Rusted and others gave good advice on getting housing cleaned out. I pulled PTO unit so I could get rear housing opened up. Got lots of brown crud out of it, a bunch below level of rear plug. I used some carb cleaner on spots inside and a wire brush, washed stuff out with Kerosene sprayer. I especially made sure housing under pick up tube was clean. I checked TA housing and area where belt pulley would be, looked clean but you can't see much around the stuff. Also cleaned in filter housing though I had done that before when changing them. Put it back together and just finished second cutting hay with no plugged filters. I use the 560 for most of the haying jobs so really glad to not have to stop every 2-4 hours to clean filter. Thanks for all the suggestions.

a thumbs up to you. it is worth spending the extra time on a problem to get a good outcome.

It was definitely nice to not keep loosing PS and lift. I had thought that draining oil would get stuff out but it never would have with the crud below the drain hole. Looked like at some point the TA clutch must have come apart as there were dents in the bottom of that cover. I wasted a lot of good oil.

you should have been able to salvage some of that oil by letting it settle out in pails for a day or two then pouring it through a filter into another pail. and if the particles are so fine in what poured out thats the filters job. i would not be throwing new oil out. hundred dollar pails of oil is just nuts so need to save all a person can.

Many moons back after i sold my 450 i bought a 460 thinking that it would do what the 450 would . I was wrong ,But anyway i had it and i was suen it . While plowing with my 4 bottom 540 plow i had the right inner axle bearing fail . This failure put a lot of fine metal grindings in the oil . We did the repair in the field and changed the oil and filters , since this was and early 460 it had the DONUTS that you had to place in the metal filter housing . That style filter did not filter as well as it should have and when the DONUTS plugged they collapsed and stuff went thru everything causing problems in the pressure regulator and would end up causing the pump to build somuch pressure it would KILL the engine I went thru cases of DONUTS and over a 110 gallon of hy tran, had the PTo out i don't know how many times tryen to flush it out . Even pulled the deck had the valves apart and cleaned every stinking line installed cow magnets in the rear end and filter housing and was still having metal issues . Ya never knew when she would stick the regulator valve and put the fire out . You were afraid to take it out on the road as you might be booking along just fine and all of a sudden she would stick and drag you down to a dead stop and that is where you sat till you got the regulator valve freed up .
