The Cub has been changed to 12 volt system or may have come that way, I don't know anything about that part of it. I know that the old battery was Neg ground and 12 volt. Question: what size 12 battery will I need for Cub? Thanks for all replies and info provided. Pembroke

looks like about 1950 model.
almost any size battery that will fit the box, will work. 12 volt.

I like the group 26 battery, it fits the battery box nicely. Maybe just a little short but a nice thick piece of rubber takes care of that.

I put a $27.00 lawn mower battery I had from Sam's Club in one of mine as a temporary fix. Two years later it is still going. It doesn't take much to start a 12 horsepower engine.

Geo from TH uses a lawn mower battery in his C, I'm sure it would start a cub just fine. I used one in a Plymouth Valiant with a 170 slant 6!
Remember the leaning tower of power?

Oh yes, the leaning tower of power, 1966 Plymouth. I loved mine. The only little bit difficult thing to fix was putting in new points. Changing the starter motor took 5 minutes if you took a break. I used to think changing points was difficult, that is until working on the newer ones, now it would be a joy. If the body didn't rust away, I think the car would still be running.
