I was mowing Saturday and hydraulic fluid started leaking from the bottom of the steering wheel. did not have tools to pull the wheel off but what am I in for a seal or what? the steering was hard at low idle. Thanks for any help as to what I am getting in to.

If it is just leaking under the wheel you can do it all from there without having to pull the hand pump. YOu need to pull the steering wheel then the snap ring turn the wheel to get the bushing and seal to come up out of the hole they are in and replace. It is pretty straight forward. ther is a seal kit for them. If it is leaking at the bottom end it is a bit more involved as you have to pull the hand pump for that.

Do you know if that can be done the same way on a 584?? I ask because the upper seal leaks on my 584
