Farmall F12 Serial Number Question

I have been looking further at the 1933 F-12 and at the Parts Catalog.
I can find no trace of any engine number stamped anywhere on the block. There is certainly no number like the one on my 1937 tractor.
In addition, the Parts Catalog says on page 279: "Serial shop number is stamped on name plate on hood sheet and on fuel tank bracket, front - Tractors FS3035 and up".
FS3456 is stamped on the plate attached to the front fuel tank mount, but there is no number stamped on the hood sheet that I can see.
Has anyone ever seen a serial number on the hood sheet of an F-12?

Where are you located?I think I remember your over seas. Was any F12 built overseas and could this be the difference with the hood and starting tank.My
F12 has the waukesha motor, these were gas motors which never used a starting tank.

Your numbers werent on the hood.IH used the same serial# plate as the rest and was rivied on the front left side of the hood with 4 rivits. You should
have the holes

No, there are no holes in the hood. F-12 tractors were never built here in Australia; all exported from the U.S.A. As the kerosene attachment was a special fitment and included fitting a different hood to accommodate the starting tank, maybe the original hood for a petrol engine had the serial number tag on it and was removed by a dealer or farmer. Can't really be certain. I have a tenuous lead to the family who bought it new; might get something from them
